MACAST is a Mac OS application designed to provide a fully-featured environment in which to enjoy many different sound formats, including MPEG Audio Layer II and III, CD Audio, and more. MACAST's Visual and BLR Plugins add a colorful experience to the music, and its skins allow the user to customize their player anyway he/she likes.
Installing MACAST
To install MACAST, simply expand the file "MACAST.sit" in the desired location. That's it! If you would like to recieve a free bonus skin, please open the "MACAST Survey" application and complete the brief form. Please note, if you are behind a firewall, this will not work.
System Requirements
MACAST requires a minimum of a PowerPC processor, System 7.5.5 with Appearance Manager, and at least 4 MB of free RAM. MACAST has been tested to run MP3s smoothly on as low as an 80 MHz processor, however, at least a 100 MHz processor is recommended. Mac OS 8.1 or later is also desirable. Supported Sound Formats
MACAST, without additional plugins, supports the sound formats listed below. Please note that the list of sound formats can be easily expanded by adding other engines to the "Plugins" folder. Other plugin engines will become available from our site.
